Jim Kilgore, affectionately known as Pastor Jim, was elected senior pastor of Life Church in the summer of 2000. He attended Jackson College of Ministries and then assisted in the state of Maryland before assuming the pastorate of Life Southwest in Houston for six years. He returned to his home church to co-pastor with his father in 1996. Pastor Jim is a personable and powerful communicator who shares his love for the people of the Houston area with his wife Nancy. They have three children, James, Benjamen, and Lace.

In 1957, Bishop Kilgore and his wife, Imogene, bringing along their children and a love for the city, came to pastor a small congregation that began in East Houston.  Their vision and dedication, over the past 48 years, helped a church that began in one member’s home make a difference in countless lives worldwide.

Michael Carlen

Belong Pastor | Email

Mike has been a fixture around Life Church for many years in several capacities, and, along with his wife Jean, assists with pastoral care duties. He oversees the Belong section of the Life Church mission, ensuring that every person has a place at our church. Mike has traveled the world for eight years, utilizing his talents as a singer/evangelist and joined the Life Church staff in 2007. The Carlen’s have three children, Michael, Alexander, and Joy.

Paul Moore

Paul joined the Life staff in 2006.  He administers the finances of the church and serves as Life Church’s Young Adult Pastor.  Paul has worked in a variety of ministry roles since graduating from Jackson College of Ministries.  He has a background in banking, and is a graduate of Belhaven College with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. Paul and his wife, Stevie, are the proud parents of their son, Nathaniel.

Jean Carlen

Jean taught at Life Christian Academy for over 22 years and now serves as executive assistant to Pastor Jim. She, also, administrates the church calendar and coordinates schedules for the pastoral staff.

Randy Casey

Chief Financial Officer | Email

Randy is a graduate of the University of Houston and the managing partner of Ashland Group, LP. He has served Life as chief financial officer for over five years.

Mary Medellin

Director of Daycare | Email

Mary enjoys working with children, and it shows. Her loving personality is well suited for her ministry as the director of Life's Little Blessings, our on-site day care center.
